In December of 1950, Hikosuke Tamasu founded the Tamasu Co., Ltd. In Japan – well known under the brand name Butterfly.

“Table tennis is a real life time sport – it motivates you to keep active throughout your life and is thus ideal for elder people.” Mr. Tamasu chose Butterfly as a brand name, symbolizing spring, peace and joy.

THE NEW BUTTERFLY TIMO BOLL SMART.GRIP LINE – INNOVATIVE TABLE TENNIS

In cooperation with club players and schools we have developed the innovative smart.grip line.
smart.grip is the notch in the middle of the handle which simplifies the gripping enormously. The unique handle shape minimizes finger slipping and improves the grip contact to the hand palm.
Especially for hobby players and players with small hands, the unique handle shape is a noticeable relief.

NAMES

Core topic of the new line is of course Timo Boll and the smart.grip technology which both inspired the naming: SG is the abbreviation for smart.grip. The figure shows the value of the model within the range.

DESIGN

Following to the Japanese spirit, the design of the handle is clean, clear and minimalistic It represents the true motto ‘less is more’.
The handle and inlay card color focuses on strong combo such as black plus vibrant color, making a clear difference within the range

SPECIAL FEATURE AUTHENTICITY HOLOGRAMM

At the bottom of the handle is a hologram sticker. The hologram sticker is a proof for authenticity of the racket. In addition, the sticker has a QR code which gives interesting information about Butterfly, Timo Boll and the total range.
